Privacy Policy

This policy explains how Carbonnest ("we", "us") handles information when you use www.carbonnest.org. You do not need an account to use the public calculators. We collect contact details only when you choose to send us a message, together with the limited technical and functional data described below.

The values you enter into a Carbonnest calculator are processed in your browser to produce the result. Those calculator inputs are not included in contact requests and are not stored by Carbonnest.

When you send the contact form, we collect your name, email address, message, an optional subject, the page URL from which you submitted the form, and your browser's user-agent string. We use your name, email, subject, and message to understand and respond to your enquiry. The source page and user-agent help us understand its context and troubleshoot the form.

Our server reads your IP address to limit repeated submissions and protect the form from abuse. The IP address is used transiently in an in-memory rate-limit record; it is not included in the contact submission stored in Directus.

Our web-hosting infrastructure processes requests needed to deliver the site and contact form. Valid contact submissions are sent to and stored in the Directus content-management system configured for Carbonnest so that we can receive and respond to them.

We keep contact submissions for as long as reasonably needed to respond and follow up, maintain necessary correspondence records, resolve issues, and meet applicable legal obligations. The appropriate period depends on the nature of the enquiry, so we do not apply a single fixed retention period. When the information is no longer reasonably needed for those purposes, it is deleted or anonymised.

Carbonnest uses cookies or browser storage to remember functional preferences, such as your selected language, colour mode, and display settings. These values let the site preserve your choices between visits. You can remove them using your browser controls; doing so may reset the site to its default settings.

When advertising is enabled, third-party vendors, including Google, may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to Carbonnest or other websites. Google and its partners may also use web beacons, IP addresses, and similar identifiers to deliver, limit, measure, and personalise ads, detect fraud, and produce reporting.

Google explains how it handles information from publisher sites in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services. You can manage personalised advertising in Google's Ads Settings, or use the industry opt-out tools at YourAdChoices.

Where applicable law requires consent, advertising cookies and personalised advertising are subject to the choices presented in the site's consent message. You can also block or delete cookies using your browser controls, although you may still see non-personalised ads.

You can use the calculators without submitting the contact form. You can remove functional storage and advertising cookies through your browser, manage personalised ads using the opt-out links above, and change or withdraw choices wherever a consent message is available.

To ask for access to, correction of, or deletion of information you sent through the contact form, email bkapamulomo@bluecodeltd.com. Please use the email address included in your message and provide enough detail for us to locate it. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request, and some rights may depend on the law that applies to you.

Carbonnest is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children.
